Winter Mountaineering / Ice Climbing

Winter Courses 2007

After spending the summer months “touching rock”, now’s the time to think about the winter and “touching snow and ice”. The high mountains of Scotland are at their best when covered in snow. They offer a perfect playground for mountaineers and great training for the Alps and higher regions. Scottish winter mountaineering can be very serious; weather patterns can be unstable causing blizzards to blow up at short notice. The routes can be long of almost alpine proportion creating navigational nightmares. Don’t get caught out!
